Compliance Assurance/Monitoring Officer

 

Location: Cheadle Hulme, SK8 5AE

Pay: £30k – £35k DOE

Key purpose of the role

Responsible for carrying out second line monitoring of Acasta’s adherence to regulatory requirements and conducting routine oversight over first line activities and third-party agencies.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Completing assigned monitoring reviews in line with the Compliance Monitoring Plan, including aspects of planning, fieldwork and report writing.
  • Setting up reviews and adhering to the Compliance Monitoring Methodology to demonstrate consistency and robustness when conducting monitoring activities.
  • Producing high-quality monitoring reports in a timely manner, clearly articulating the findings, and required actions.
  • Supporting the Agents and action owners through to satisfactory completion of actions and conducting follow up reviews to demonstrate compliance from action closure.
  • Providing monthly MI relating to the reports and outputs from monitoring activities.
  • Monitoring the Conduct Dashboard and Agent Risk Register and highlighting any concerns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting first line with oversight over their activities/processes and providing assurances to Board that procedures are working effectively.

Your Skills

  • Experience working in the General Insurance/Consumer Credit industry with exposure to the regulatory handbook.
  • Sound knowledge of the FCA regulatory requirements and a good working knowledge of emerging regulatory risks.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in conducting monitoring activities within a second line Compliance team.
  • Good understandings of Conduct risks and experience of working within Consumer Duty.
  • Good reporting writing skills and advanced skills with Microsoft Office – namely Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Forms & SharePoint.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and ability to work independently and part of a team.

Experience

Essential

  • GCSEs A* – C in Maths and English.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient.
  • Minimum 1 year second line compliance monitoring experience.
  • Worked within the insurance/consumer credit industry.
  • FCA regulatory knowledge and experience.

About Acasta

Acasta Europe Ltd (AEL) are appointed as the administrator by the Insurer Acasta European Insurance Company Ltd (AEICL) who are based in Gibraltar.

AEL manage the day-to-day activities for AEICL as they are based in the UK and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for the performance of Insurance Intermediary activities.

The Compliance team currently has the capacity for 4 team members and will be made up of Advisory and Monitoring specialist subject matter experts.

Days/hours

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Hybrid working upon successful completion of training: 2 days in the office, 3 days WFH.
